Representatives of German-Ukrainian Project participated in the Donors’ Coordination Meeting on E-Governance


On 18 August the Embassy of the United States in Kyiv hosted a Donors’ Coordination Meeting on E-Governance. The meeting was attended by Coordinator of the Reform of Municipal Services in Eastern Ukraine Project Taras Zhuravel, the representatives of European Union Delegation to Ukraine, the Embassy of Sweden, the Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine of Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the United Nations Development Programme in Ukraine (UNDP) and Kyiv School of Economics (KSE). Ukrainian party was represented by the State Agency for E-Governance of Ukraine.

The responsible officials of the State Agency for E-Governance of Ukraine presented their vision of building the system to support the e-governance reform, inter alia:

  • ranking of Ukraine from the perspective of Information Society Index;
  • currently accepted e-governance world architecture;
  • distribution of authority in e-governance sector in Ukraine;
  • main bottlenecks and tasks of e-governance in Ukraine;
  • the status of communications from the viewpoint of technical assistance.

The meeting participants discussed the requests of Ukrainian party, specified the capabilities of donors with regard to the declared requests and made proposals on the joint action plan in this sphere.

For information: the State Agency for E-Governance of Ukraine was established on 4 June 2014 by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers № 255 by the change of name of the State Agency for Science, Innovation and Informatization of Ukraine – a central government agency.

The government agency is assigned to implement the state policy in the sphere of informatization, e-governance, compiling and use of national electronic information resources and the development of information society.

The activity of the government agency is regulated and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine via Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Municipal Economy.
